Meet the Artist

Styric is an American bass guitarist, composer, and lover of music. Styric was born in New Haven, CT, where he begun his affinity for music. He graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN., where he currently resides.

Styric has been playing the bass since the age of thirteen. Some of his early musical influences were: Earth Wind & Fire, Dave Grusin, The Crusaders, and the group Slave.

The bassists that had the most influence on his bass styles are: Verdine White of EW&F, Marcus Miller, and Robert Lee “Pops” Popwells of the Crusaders.

The majority of his adult life was spent in Corporate America, but music was always somehow in the mix. He considers himself a weekend warrior, and has played for the church, private & public gigs. He never passes up the chance to join an impromptu jam session with fellow musicians.

Styric has always enjoyed the creative side of music. In 2019, he decided to share some of his music with the world. He reached out to some of his close friends in the music industry to help him on this endeavor, who also performed on the tracks of his EP “Seasons”.

The concept was to release a single every season that captured the vibe of the season. The bonus track was a remake of Wayne Shorter’s composition “Palladium” originally recorded & performed by the fusion jazz group: Weather Report.

Styric released his debut single Springtime on June 12, 2020.Springtime was the first of the five track EP, which was followed by subsequent releases each season throughout 2020. He is looking forward to sharing more of his music over the coming years.
